In July 2015, PreSonus released their latest version 3 of Studio One Digital Audio Workstation. With it came PRIME, the free downloadable version, for entry-level music recording.
In this video, I present how to download and install your free copy and run through some of its basic functions and talk about some of its limitations.
The main limitations of Studio One v3 Prime are:
— Only stock plugins. No VST add-on possible, effects or instrument.
— Only 2 channels for capturing audio from your Audio Interface
— No Sub-Bus
But, that should not stop anyone to be creative and diving into making music.
