After 2 weeks of constructing the new studio desk, it’s finally sitting in its final position in the studio.
The new desk now has room for all the studio gear right at my fingertips.
In the centre is my PreSonus Studiolive 24 Series 3 Digital Mixing Console. Sitting at the end, my ultrawide LCD screen. Under the desk, my 61 key MIDI Controller keyboard. Slide out when recording, then slide in and away when mixing.
To the left, all of my outboard audio gear that are my BUS Compressors and Audio Processors. To the right, all of my outboard audio gear to capture audio like microphone preamps, vocal processors and compressors. On the right, below the desk are my less used special audio rack units. My PC now resides to the left under the desk running quietly all of my applications.
The next big task is to plan and do all of the audio wiring of each rack unit into the patch bay and to & from the mixing console. Then it’s ready for operation.
With the new desk, both studio monitoring speakers now sit at the perfect height for listening. The PreSonus Eris E8 and the Monkey Banana Gibbons 4″ also will sound great once I run the Sonarworks Reference 4 Room Equalisation to balance the room audio.
