To achieve tight, punchy, uniform and balanced mix, we can use compression. But like any processing of an audio, we can lose some details and clarity. No different with audio compression.

We maintain the transients and clarity of an audio track or mix, we can use Parallel Compression.

In this video I briefly talk about audio dynamics and compression, as well as what Parallel Compression is. Then, demonstrate how to overcome  the limitations in PreSonus Studio One V3 Prime, the FREE DAW, and achieve the same result.

  1. Thanks Vatche. Your video’s are very, very informative. Your relaxed manner in which you teach is very good. I am so thankful that I came across your website it’s like discovering something very important and valuable. I’m a retired senior lecturer so I think I am suitably ‘qualified’ to judge your ability to teach. Well done! Keep it coming!
I will definitely recommend your web to my students. I also teach audio recording part time and enjoying it.
    Greetings from South Africa!
