Just landed on my desk my new Audio Interface; the Mackie Onyx Blackbird Firewire, 16×16 inputs and outputs. Having over 114db (A-Weighted) signal-to-Noise Ratio, they are as clean as you can get.

  • 2 Super input channels and 6 microphone/line inputs, each with its own input level knob.
  • 2 Independent headphone outputs. They are clean and loud!
  • 24bit/96Khz AD/DA Cirrus LogicĀ® Converters.
  • 8×8 ADAT Input/Output.
  • Direct monitoring audio routing for zero latency. Less than 2ms latency from DAW via Matric Control Panel.

Plus the flexible Matrix Control Panel to direct any Input to any Output. Up to 18 DAW feeds to any selectable outputs, giving the most flexible Cue Bus system.

I will be doing a full video review of the Mackie Onyx Blackbird Firewire Audio Interface soon.

Feel free to ask any relevant questions below in the comment section, to be included in my review.

All I can say is that my first impressions were just unbelieveable!

Close match to, if not better than my Presonus AudioBox 1818VSL USB2.0 Audio Interface.

I really like it!
